Birth Story - Miles | 8.30.15 | Jacksonville Birth Photographer

Photographing a birth story is always amazing. Not only do you get to witness and capture a true miracle, but you become a part of the journey. Each labor and birth is different, and each is beautiful, but this one in particular hit close to home. Keri and Corey planned a home birth, surrounded by special people they chose to be a part of it (I was honored to be included). It was a stormy night, as we were getting some major rain from Tropical Storm Erika, but it was very peaceful and quiet inside as Keri progressed through labor beautifully. After about 7 hours, the midwife recommended a transfer to the hospital due to Keri's high blood pressure, and lack of progression in dilation. In the wee hours of the morning we all made the drive, and the parents-to-be got as comfortable as possible in their room. While things were moving a little more slowly, I decided to head home around 4:00am to get some sleep, and returned to the hospital at 7:00am at the news that Keri was being prepped for a c-section. I wasn't able to go into the OR, but I did stay to capture the moments immediately following. Their precious baby boy, Miles, was born perfectly healthy and quite content. Congratulations to Keri and Corey on their new addition! And way to go Keri on being such a strong mama!
